The town has been re-populated, but coal fires continue to burn underground. ![]() The Garfield comic strip takes place in the town of Silent Hill.That is, following the theory that there are three "levels" of existence to Silent Hill: a normal, functioning abode that used to be a mining town, the foggy "otherworld", and the dessicated dark world.
